I used to hate it when my mom used to forcibly massage my scalp for ten minutes when I was a little kid. She used to tell me that she is applying some kind of a 'secret' mixture of oils whose 'secret' had been handed to her by my grandmother. A few years later I learnt that the 'secret' oil was just coconut oil and that she made up the grandma story just to make me sit quietly. However, my mom's daily massage of my scalp made my hair really healthy and strong and to this day it remains thick and dark and strong even though I hardly take care of them.
